Chiropractic Adjusting Techniques

Our office utilizes a wide variety of chiropractic adjusting techniques to maximize the healing and wellness of our practice members. Every adjustment that is performed in our office is specific for the purposes of maximizing the expression of your nervous system, to allow your body to heal from inside-out!

Thompson Terminal Point Technique

This chiropractic adjusting technique utilizes a specialized analysis of leg length inequalities to determine the specific position of a subluxation. Your doctor of chiropractic will be able diagnose and locate your specific subluxation throughout your entire spine and pelvis.

Thompson Terminal Point Technique utilizes a specialized table with segmental drop pieces for different spinal segments. As each piece gives way with the adjustment is able to be performed with lower forces and higher precision.

Upper Cervical Adjustments

This chiropractic adjusting technique utilizes analysis of the first two spinal bones in your neck. A misalignment in these bones causes an immense amount of pressure on the spinal cord in the neck, what most call a “pinched nerve”, causing poor flow of information from your brain to the rest of your body.

Your doctor of chiropractic will use your x-rays to determine your specific misalignment, to better restore your spine and nervous system to its proper position and function.

Diversified Technique

This chiropractic adjusting technique is utilized to restore proper motion to segments in your spine.

Your doctor of chiropractic may determine the specific location of improper spinal motion or misalignments by way of motion palpation or leg length inequalities. A specific adjustment is performed by way of a skilled contact and thrust in the correct plane of motion and with the correct amount of force, determined by years of experience.

Activator Methods™

This chiropractic adjusting technique utilizes a specific full spine analysis by way of leg length inequalities. By this method of analysis your doctor of chiropractic can diagnose and determine the exact location of subluxation in your spine.

The adjustment is performed with an Activator™, which is an instrument that applies a specific impulse to the misaligned spinal segment, in turn taking the pressure off of your nervous system, and allowing your body to heal from within!

Orthotics

The key to better health could be right under your... toes.

What do my feet have to do with it?

Orthotics that augment treatment and add to your general wellbeing no matter where your feet may take youYour feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body. Like the foundation of a house, your feet support the weight of everything above them. When a small problem develops in your feet, a subtle change in the way you walk will cause a chain reaction of adjustments in your posture and walking mechanics. These changes can put stress on joints higher up in your body and lead to more serious problems.

The Orthotic Group’s (TOG) custom orthotics help rebalance your feet, reducing pain and discomfort by enhancing your body’s natural movements. In close partnership with Health In Hand Family Chiropractic’s Health Practitioners, TOG designs orthotics that augment treatment and add to your general wellbeing no matter where your feet may take you.

Answering yes to any one of these questions would make you a potential candidate for Orthotic Therapy:

  • Are your feet sore on a regular basis?
  • Do you have heel pain on a regular basis?
  • Do you spend a good portion of the day walking or standing?
  • Do you play sports regularly?
  • Does walking or running result in joint pain (ankle, knee, hip, or back)?
  • Are you over 40?
  • Are you over weight?
  • Do you have visible foot problems (bunions, fallen arches, calluses, corns)?
  • Do your feet “toe-out” or “toe-in” when you walk?
  • Do you have a family history of foot problems?

Reasons for wearing custom foot orthotics are:

  • Restored balance and alignment to your body
  • Injury prevention
  • Better shock absorption
  • Improved comfort and stability
  • Pain relief
